English C. 1835 Toy China Tureen
A very charming child’s covered toy tureen bowl. The pattern name is Chinese Bells and dates to the 1835. The color of this transfer is green and has the scene of two Chinese Boys Playing with Chinese Bell. The oval shaped bulbous tureen has handles on each side and other than needing a light cleaning on the inside of the tureen this is in nice condition.
The lid of this tureen has a flower styled finial and a small chip on one side. The two piece set is wonderful and the chip could be repaired by a talented restorer. Measurements:5 inches from handle to handle, 3 1/2 inches wide and with the lid on sits3 3/4 inches high.
This could be a missing piece to a early Victorian child’s dinner set and would be a very nice addition to a collection of English Toy China.
