A mid-nineteenth century English tea pot with a pewter flip lid. This teapot has the makers initials W.S. inside a diamond mark on the underside. Measurements: 6 3/4 inches from the base to the top of the finial, 8 3/4 inches from the edge of the spout to the rim of the handle.
This bulbous teapot has an underglaze Romanesque transfer design and copper luster added to the handle and transfer scene design. There is a molded design on the body of the bulbous teapot around the handle and spout. The condition is near perfect. There is a small chip on the underside of the spout.
