1844 Blue and White Transfer Pitcher
A very nice English ‘sauce-boat’ pitcher in a blue and white transfer. Measurements: 8 inches from handle rim to spout edge and is 5 1/4 inches at the highest point from the top of the handle to the base of the pedestal style base.
On the underside of the base there are the makers mark and diamond shape transfer with the date. This blue and white transfer is dated to June 24, 1844, maker J. Meir, Staffordshire, England. Condition is wonderful with no chips, cracks or repairs. This pitcher was probably part of a large dinner set and has the pattern name of MAZARA. This pitcher displays beautifully and could be used.
