English Oak Tambour Front Stationary Cabinet, c. 1880
This is a beautiful oak stationary cabinet with front locking tambour and lower drawer. The lower drawer is held secure with a brass dowel as seen in the photos. The interior of this stationary contains a four-section stationary rack, a pair of original inkwells, a large front compartment for writing equipment, and a calendar (with knobs which turn to adjust the date). The drawer has brass cartouche, and there is a cartouche at the key hole. The key is included, and the lock is in good working order.
The stationary cabinet is 16 1/2 inches wide, 10 inches deep, and 12 inches high. The oak is in very good condition. There are two 3 inch marks on the tambour as seen in the photos. The tambour slides smoothly in either motion. It can be locked in place when it is pulled down over the cabinet.
This is a wonderfully crafted and simply gorgeous stationary cabinet. It would look simply great on your desk, or on a table in your office. *Roll Top
