English Silver Plate Rose Bowl Tennis Championship Trophy Cup on a Wooden Stand, 1957 - 1974
This is a wonderful three-piece trophy cup recently purchased in England. The silver plate bowl is 10 inches wide at the top, and 6 5/16 inches wide at the pedestal base. The trophy sits on a wooden base, and has a removable silver-plated net over the top of the bowl. The the trophy is 10 inches tall from base to the top of the net.
The trophy has a beautiful chased design surrounding the entire rose bowl. Florals are the dominant theme of the chased design. The silver plate is in very good condition on the rose bowl, as is the silver plate net. The net is held on by four clasps that attach easily to the rim of the bowl.
The rose bowl sits on a wood base upon which shields from 1957 - 1974 have the engraved names of the winning women tennis champions for each year. A 3 inch wide plate tells the nature of this particular trophy. On the plate, the following information is given:
"The Coalville District L.T.T. Kuchlin Rose Bowl Ladies Doubles."
The base shows wear to the mahogany veneer, as seen in the photos.
This is a wonderful Women's Tennis trophy that displays beautifully.
