Victorian English Copper Jug Measurement set, 1860
A very nice set of three English liquid jug measures. This graduated set has the Queen Victoria Duty Marks.
Jug #1 is the smallest and is 3 1/4 inches high from the skirted base to the top of the handle and 2 3/4 inches in diameter not including the handle. This small jug holds 8 oz. of water. Two of these will fill the 1/2 pint jug. Condition: other than user dings and a repaired spout this charming jug is beautiful by itself or in this three piece set. C.1860
Jug #2 is 4 1/2 inches high and 3 5/8 inches in diameter, not including the handle. The Queen Victorian duty mark can be seen on the inside spout form. This does hold water and displays beautifully. There are some user marks to this wonderful English copper jug.
Jug#3 is the largest in this set, measuring 6 1/8 inches high from the spout rim to the edge of the skirted design base. This quart jug is in nice condition and does have a few digs and user marks. Queen Victoria duty mark can be seen on the inside of the spout form and the makers mark can be located where the handle is attached. The mark is LOFTUS, 146 OXFORD ST., LONDON (the W.R. Loftus Company). Condition: There are the user marks that go with the age and displays beautifully alone or with the other items being sold in the set.
