English Staffordshire Red Transferware Plate, Davenport 1820-1860
A lovely 9 inches across English Transfer Ware plate. The maker was Davenport, Staffordshire, England, 1820-1860. The pattern name is ‘Chinese Pastime’ and has the center scene of two children playing in a beautiful garden. One figure is running with a pin wheel and the other is chasing a wheel rim and holding the stick to keep it going forward. The plate does have a pearlware glaze.
Condition; There are no chips or crack and very little minor wear to the scalloped edge.
