English Staffordshire Spill Vase Figurine with Pearlware Glaze
A 11 1/2 inches English Staffordshire spill vase with two romantic figurines standing on a circular gilt lined base. The female figure is carrying an ermine muff and has a knee length dress. She is wearing a hat with a plumed feather. The male figurine has one leg resting on the base of the tree, a hand poised behind his back and is holding the hand of the female figurine.
This is a flat back figurine and has a pearlware glaze. There are no chips or cracks or repairs and other than some light loss to the added final hand-coloring, this figurine is in very good condition. The hand-painting would have been on top of the final glaze.
This is a lovely English Staffordshire figurine, c.1860 that would be a nice addition to a collection and display.
