Tartan Ware Sewing Tape Holder, 1863
A wonderful Victorian Tartan Ware sting/tape holder/casket with the clan name of ‘Albert’ clan pattern.
This Measurements: 3 1/4 inches high by 2 3/8 inches in diameter. On the underside of the pin cushion style lid there is the original pink label of the medlock tape company.
On the underside of this sewing item also has the original makers green label. Each of the labels show wear. The date on the green label is June 13,1863.
The base of this tape holder has a very fine slit on the side where the tape would be pulled from. The lid has a minor loss of the side paper cover and does have the original worn velvet cover designed to be a pin cushion.
This tartanware would be a very nice addition to a collection and displays beautifully.
