Pair of 1900 English Staffordshire Recumbent Lion Figurines
A beautiful and very impressive pair of English Staffordshire Lions. This pair would be dated to late Victorian or early 1900's. The lions have inset glass eyes and a glossy glaze. The lions measure 13 1/2 inches wide and, 10 inches high. Condition: Lion on the left has a kiln crack in the lions mane and a hairline, see photos, on the underside. Neither of these listed errors are a problem for the display or even longevity of the figurine. The lion on the right has the same hair line crack on the underside and on the back of the base a covered chip.
This is a very fine pair of English Victorian Staffordshire Lions and would be lovely among books or set lone.
