Majolica Pitcher 'Dogwood' Pattern, 1880
A lovely 8" high Majolica Pitcher with the molded design of the `Dogwood' pattern. The fixed handle is in the style of a branch, and the colors of the wonderful glaze are were done in pinks, greens and brown. The pinks of the blossoms seemed to have some of the greens and brown spread over the blooms during the finally kiln firing. This pitcher is in great condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The spout of the pitcher has an interesting flat design. This would be a very nice addition to a collection as it speaks of the Era and the love of bringing into the home of nature . The pitcher was bought in England and would be part of the late Victorian Era. c.1880
