Circa 1880 Framed Print of Owls. This fine Aesthetic Movement print is all original in its fine deep, walnut frame. The frame is unusual and hard to picture in that it has five "set backs" each with a different detail, three of which are patterned gilded gesso. It also has a double layered mat, the inside one is a dark tan and the outer one a cream color. The print features three owls on a branch, each of which has a small number. The number three owl has a small hole in its lower feathers which can be seen in our third photo and is not very noticeable in person. I believe this might be a framed Audubon print hence the numbers. All original, glass and frame, some minor loss to the inside edges of the gesso and wear to the outer corners of the frame. 16 1/2" wide x 19" tall x 2 1/2" deep over-all, the print is approximately 11" x 13".
