Circa 1890. Extra fine pair of 19th century European male and female figures. These statues are extremely high quality, beautifully molded and painted with great skill and lots of fine detail. They are both charmingly dressed in what appears to be 18th century costumes. The young women is wearing a broad brimmed, frilly bonnet and is carrying a parasol. Her light green dress has frilly sleeves and a large pink sash tied around her waist. The fine gentleman is wearing a purple coat, knee britches and a large green hat with a bright blue feather. He has a tall walking stick in one hand and a large blue cape draped over his arm. Both figures are standing on elaborate green bases and the woman's base has pink flowers. Excellent detail on both. The male figure is in excellent original condition. The female figure is in excellent condition with the exception of a single missing pinkie finger. Un-marked except for some numbers cast into the underside of the statues. Fresh from a local Brooklyn home. 21" tall x 8 1/2" deep x 7 1/2" wide. Price $1400 for the pair.
