Circa 1885. Superb English Aesthetic Movement, jardinière and stand. This large and extremely fine example of Asian influenced, tin glazed ( Majolica) ceramics is a collector's dream, bold beautiful design, rich color and fine original condition. The back round color is a deep cobalt blue, with a lighter blue design of growing bamboo and flowers (they look like "paper white" blossoms) all accented with a fine gold gilding. There are no chips, cracks or repairs, only fine crazing to the glaze on the inside of the jardinière. The only marking is "ALBERT" on the base of the flower pot. Over-all height 33 3/4" the base is 25" tall, the jardinière is 9 1/4" tall x 12" across. Price $2200.
