I was fortunate to be able to purchase a number of items for the very prestigious Estate of June D. Winkler, Beverly Hills and Rancho Mirage, California and Acapulco, Mexico. Among the eclectic items that appealed to me was her collection of silvered metal animals and figures. This is from that collection. (I also purchased most of her Bruno Luna sculptures, in the process of listing)
I always like interesting animal pieces. I am not sure what these are made of - definitely metal. It is silver-toned, with the bottom gold-toned.

A bit of trivia: The turtle has a prominent position as a symbol of many important concepts in religion, mythology, and folklore from around the world, including steadfastness and tranquility. A tortoise's longevity is suggested by its long lifespan and its shell, which to some symbolizes protection from any foe.

Country of Origin: Italy.

Size: Approximately 2 3/4 inches tall; 7 inches wide, and 4 3/4 inches deep.

Signed: "Venzo" on the lower edge of the shell. There are two circular inlaid metals on bottom that says "Made in Italy" and also "Argen".

Condition: Very Good to Excellent Condition.
