This appealed the moment I saw it. I love the technique that looks like this is a piece on material, instead of the canvas. It has vivid colors and excitement. The artist has had acclaim and has been well-listed (Who Was Who in American Art and Fine Arts Of Texas).
His high reported public price was $2,760.00 in 2020, but his work has sold for much more in galleries. A biography is at the end of the listing.

Biography from Fine Arts Of Texas, Inc.

Fred Binder Samuelson
Born in Harvey, Illinois, Fred Samuelson became a painter and art instructor, devoting much of his life, beginning 1955, to the teaching of drawing and painting at the Institute Allende in San Miquel Allende, Mexico. For the Art Department, he also served as Chair and Director of Graduate Studies.

He earned his BFA (1951) and MFA (1953) from the Art Institute of Chicago.

Exhibition venues included museums in Denver, Dallas, Acapulco, Kalamazoo, and Oklahoma City. He completed a mural for the 1968 Hemisfair in San Antonio.

Richard Plumly, of Fine Arts of Texas gallery in San Antonio, wrote in November 2012 that "Fred Binder Samuelson was also a Texas artist. He lived in Texas and exhibited at the Dallas Museum of Art in the early 60's. Also he was a friend of our family and visited us often in the 60's, 70's & 80's. My mother bought many paintings from him and also taught art in the Summer at the Hill Country Arts Foundation at Ingram, Texas.

According to Frank Gerrietts July, 2003, after Samuelson's retirement from the Institute Allende, he moved to Rockledge, Florida.

The artist passed away in Florida in 2015.
