This is one of a number of cast iron banks I purchased from a private collection from Long Beach, California. Enough of the paint remains to give this piggy a nice gold color. It appears to have been made from two pieces. The slot for coins is on top at the base of the head to almost over the shoulders. For me, this evoked such warm childhood memories of the "piggy bank" that children would save pennies when lucky enough to get as penny!
