PIETRA DURA exceptionally fine depiction of a parrot trying to catch a fly. Excellent pietra dura such as this has continued to appreciate in value, especially when compared with the poor quality that so often is appearing for sale.

This is a very different subject matter than what is usually seen. This Pietra dura plaque of a parrot on a perch trying to catch a fly is unlike anything I have seen. It is beautifully done.

Country of Origin: Italy

Medium: Semi-Precious stones - Pietra Dura.

Size: Sight 11 1/2 by 8 1/4 inches; framed 15 1/2 inches by 12 inches.

Condition: The plaque itself is without fault. No missing pieces, or damage. The frame has several small "dings". Small rub on the upper left; scratch bottom mid center. I do not find these small issues to be distracting at all.

Circa: 20th Century.
