THIS IS ONE OF OUR HOLIDAY GIFTS TO YOU, TEMPORARILY PRICED WAY BELOW MARKET. NO OFFERS PLEASE.

Established in 1973, the "Second Generation Movement" began with "friends and family." The African American entrepreneurs were born during the 1950s and 60s. Several have painted over decades and can be known as the "Florida Highwaymen Historic Generation." Makeshift assembly-lines and trees are used as easels, back-yards, porches and garages for studio's; at times wet paint on Masonite is sold from the trunk of the car or the side of the road; all are 1950s handed-down traditions. "A make up of a few hand-picked inherited close friends, and descendants. The Florida Highwaymen Historic Generation is the most powerful extension, that transcends a history started by the "Florida Original Highwaymen Artists."

Norman Wright has historically painted since 1974 and over decades struggled to build his own legacy. He is a former brother-in-law to Al Black. His work is impressive. Still affordable, but prices rising. This particular piece is especially interesting. He has depicted a palm tree over relatively calm waters with reflections of the moonlight dancing on the water. This is indicative of his style; he is an impressionist that occasionally borders on the fanciful, capturing the magic of the scene.
He is quoted: "Together we are our best, Thank you, America, for treating all our generations as worthy!"
