Thomas Currie Bell (1873-1946) Born in Scotland, Bell trained at the Royal Scottish Academy and became a well known portrait painter to Scottish high society. Bell immigrated to the US in 1929 and became a Peconic School artist. He began painting portraits of society in America after his arrival, and continued to work until shortly before his death in 1946. This portrait drawing is titled "Lucretia (Helen)" which is written in the lower left near his signature.
