This excellent antique pietra dura (hard stone) plaque depicts a man and woman standing o an outcrop of rocks in front of the ocean. A sailboat is seen on this bright day, with lovely clouds and trees. He is holding something in his upraised hand. I'm not sure of its significance.
Country of Origin: Italy.
Medium: Pieta Dure (Petra Dure).
Size: Plaque 7 1/2 inches by 5 inches; framed 13 inches by 10 1/2 inches.
Condition: Very Good Antique Condition.
