This elderly mudman is depicted holding a bait bucket or possibly a cricket box. There is a deliberate emphasis on his advanced age, with his stooped posture. For some reason one leg shows from under his robe from the knee down. He has a marvelous wrap over his robe. His fingers are quite long. His features are very good, as are the colors. He has been glazed in the Sancai tradition of Jade Green, Cerulean Blue and Mustard Yellow, and the colors are still vivid. All told a very interesting and unusual figure.
Size: 12 1/2".
Condition: The overall condition is much better than what you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
