This is quite a moving and deep rendition. There are contrasts on several levels; the bright and happy colored hair over a sad face. Clowns who have the sad faces are supposed to be simply playing apart; but this clown's face seems to have genuine emotion. Clowns have always appealed to me because of the similarities to real life; putting on a face that might mask great depth.
