A Sunday Stick, or a Sabbath Stick, was the golfer's subterfuge to be able to golf on Sunday, circumventing the Church of Scotland's policy against it. Clubs were disguised as walking sticks, the club head comfortably fitting in the palm of the golfer's hand, until feeling unobserved, the stick was reversed and a few strokes were played. The golfing Sunday Stick has a bamboo shaft and brass mounting. The Sunday Stick is also a cane/walking stick.
Medium: Bamboo and brass.
Size: 30" by 4" by 2".
Condition: Pitting and scratching to the brass head of the stick, some losses to the haft, missing bottom piece.
