David Newrider (Native American, Born 1929), is one of very Native American artists who paint in pastels. This beautiful and moody painting shows a lone figure at a stream, with the tepees in the background, and leafless trees all around. There is a lovely sky with subtle sunlight, perhaps just now rising. David Newrider has won many awards. He paints under the name of his Native American great-great grandfather. David is proud to be a full-blooded Pawnee.
