I am very proud to offer several original paintings from three of The Florida Highwaymen, all three of whom were inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame. Florida Highwaymen Artists were the beginning of Florida's contemporary art tradition, and are credited for the beginning of the "Indian River School" art movement. They captured waterscapes, back country marshes, and inlets the way they used to be, and now are not as plentiful but still can be found. In recent years the recognition of their skill and their story caused their paintings to skyrocket in value. Willie Daniels is one whose work is in great demand. This has the feeling of a beautiful day on the marsh. The details of this particular painting are fabulous, including quite a few different species of birds. Some works of art always seem "new" when you return to them. This is one of them. You see a few birds in the trees; in the background; in the foreground. Different marsh grasses. This is quite wonderful.
