This figural snuff bottle is very finely hand-carved out of black coral. It shows the shape of a tree stump on which there is an outsized peach. (In Chinese tradition the peach is a symbol for longevity.) The stopper is very nice as well. It has a hand carved cinnabar lacquer top set on a Mother of Pearl platform, with the metal spoon present. Its figural shape is short with a cylindrical neck and flattened base.
