This lavender jade snuff bottle has a compressed, squared form having an octagonal faceted raised reserve and raised rectangular reserves to the sides, with a jadeite stopper cover having a band of goldstone, raised on a fitted hardwood stand. I find this one of the more beautiful snuff bottles because of the lovely color of the jade.
Size: 2 1/2" without the stopper. 2 3/4" with the stopper.
Provenance: This is from the Estate of Harvey and Mildred Levy, St. Louis, Missouri.
Circa: 19th Century.
Condition: Overall good, complete condition with minor wear, no apparent losses. The cover with possible glue traces between the jade and goldstone. The bottle with museum putty stuck to the underside and to the stand. Stopper and scoop intact.
