As many of you know, I rarely buy any copies, but was totally taken by "Fire by Night," It is a view of the ocean from within a cave during a volcanic eruption. The process used is "cibachrome," which refers to a hand-coloring process for photographic prints that can make the prints more archival and vividly colorful. This is one of a small edition of only 75.
Walfrido took the art world by storm when his work began to be seen and recognized. He is associated with "Romantic Realism" which is a style of presentation that really appeals to me. This is an extremely talented artist whose oils run many thousands of dollars, and his lithographs, even giclees, are priced in the low thousands. This particular piece (which I consider outstanding) comes with is a letter of estimated value from Wyland Galleries from 2003, for $3,600.00. Walfrido has been teaching art since he was 17 years old. Some of his works are available through Art Brokerage. "Fire By Night" is not available on their website, or any of the other galleries I researched.
