Art Deco Carlton Ware Biscuit Jar With Silver-Plated Lid, c 1906 - 1927.
Carlton Ware was a famous Stoke-on-Trent based pottery manufacturer. It reached its artistic high-point with superb hand-painted domestic pottery in high Art Deco style during the 1920s and 1930. This has the Carlton Ware W & R Stoke On Trent crown and swallow makers mark without "Made In England" dates this piece from 1906 - 1927, the real "glory time" for Carlton Ware. This is a beautiful piece that is rarely seen. This lidded biscuit jar has some absolutely beautiful flowers on a stem with leaves. The lid is silver-plated metal.
Country of Origin: England.
Size: Approx. 6" tall and 6" diameter.
Marks: This has the Carlton Ware W & R Stoke On Trent crown and swallow makers mark without "Made In England" dates this piece from 1906 - 1927. This also has a number and artist's initial. The lid is marked "E P N S" for "Electro-Plated Nickel Silver."
Condition: Very Good.
Circa: 1906 - 1927.
