Larry Hagman loved the West. His home housed many Western themed artwork. This is an especially interesting piece. It is Number 6 of an edition of only 90, by R. P. Kidd, noted artist in watercolors as well as carvings. There is a wonderful personal note that Mr. Hagman kept affixed to the back. Nicely framed and matted.
Size: The lithograph itself is 16" by 20". It has been beautifully matted with an oval opening that measures 16" by 11 1/4". Framed it measures 23 1/2" by 19 1/4".
Signed and Numbered: Numbered 6/90, signed in the plate and dated '89, signed again in pencil lower right and dated '90.
After years of doing only originals, R. P. Kidd was finally convinced into creating a series of hand-colored, limited edition prints! As part of the progression toward creating a major bas-relief portrait, an original pen and ink for composition is created. From this R. P. Kidd pulls a few prints which are then watercolor to work out the color scheme.
