I bought this about ten years ago at auction. Since then, the interest and market for quality Russian artwork has gone up a great deal. This was in the category of "Must Have" for me. Sometimes we can't explain the attraction. For me, it was colors and intensity and perspective. I only visited the Russia once (in 1968) and found it fascinating. Perhaps the painting reflected my impression of the country; very intense. (At the same auction, I purchased a number of other items that will soon be listed, including a small Russian portrait. Please subscribe to my shop and you will be sent notice of all new items.)
