I believe that match safes are increasingly becoming an extremely popular collectible for the novice collector to the sophisticated investor. Because there are still wide variations in price as well as rarity, one can find low cost pieces to start, and then progress up to rare (and expensive) pieces. Many investors now feel that there is a better chance of appreciation with high end antiques and collectibles and fine art than waiting for the US Dollar to stabilize or gain in value. Regardless of your investment plans, a collector should follow his or her interests, whether in only one direction or in several. As someone who has extremely eclectic taste, I tend to like a variety of items,
from antique paperweights to match safes to Vienna Bronze.
