This well-listed British artist, William Henry Gore R.B.A. (1880-1927) has been lauded by critics, and his work has hung in prestigious galleries and museums. This oil of an English river landscape is simply wonderful. It is thought to depict the Thames at Henley. There is a large tree in the foreground, and cattle grazing beyond. I have been quite proud to hang this in my gallery wall of my home for many years. It has been a point of pride of ownership, and a painting that has given me much enjoyment in viewing. I think the ornate gilt frame is appropriate and enhances the painting.
His high auction price was $121,000.00.
