This well-detailed Chinese mudman is probably a man of influence, since he holds a carp which is the symbol of wealth and prosperity. I think he has a satisfied almost smug expression on his face. He is glazed in the Sancai tradition of Cerulean Blue, Mustard Yellow and Jade Green.
Ht 3 and 1/2 inches.
Circa 1920.
Condition: Very Good. The colors are vibrant and except for a few rubs on the base he has no losses. The overall condition is better than you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
This is part of the fabulous collection of 144 vintage and antique mudmen that had been lovingly collected over many decades. I purchased all 144 pieces, all in Very Good to Excellent Condition. I will be listing all of them, and of course will consider a reduced price if one were to purchase all or a large number of them. I am listing them at very affordable prices individually as well.
When buying more than one item of approximately the same size, we combine shipping, and only charge $1.00 shipping for each additional item.
