Chung Li Chuan has a fascinating part of Chinese folklore. He holds a Palm Leaf, which has the power of reviving the dead. Here he is glazed in white (the symbol of purity) and yellow, with aqua trim.
He is 4 and 1/4 inches tall.
Marks: Incised "China"
Circa 1880 - 1919.
He is in Very Good Condition, He has a very small crack at the tip of his protruding shoe that does not seem to go through. The bottom is rough with some rubs around the base. There are two small circles of white glaze on the back of the seat. The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
This is part of the fabulous collection of 144 vintage and antique mudmen I have just purchased, that had been lovingly collected over many decades. I purchased all 144 pieces, all in Very Good to Excellent Condition. I will be listing all of them, and of course will consider a reduced price if one were to purchase all or a large number of them. I am listing them at very affordable prices individually as well.
When buying more than one item of approximately the same size, we combine shipping, and only charge $1.00 shipping for each additional item.
