This is truly a wonderful treasure. Depicting the tree of life design, It is wool with silk highlights on linen, in a lovely frame. I have had the frame lightly restored, but the needlework is as found. There was a letter on the back of the frame saying that the piece was done "in the year of Waterloo" and describing the tree of life design. Unfortunately, when the frame was restored, I received it back without the letter. The restorer is trying to find it, if he had removed it. However, the provenance is absolutely without question as I purchased it through Julien's in Beverley Hills, California, who marketed the estate of Mary Pickford.
This is approximately 14 inches in height.
The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners. However, this is still in Very Good Condition.
