People who have been to my home have all marvelled at the many original William Nelson pieces I have. Pictures can't do justice to the details and beauty he captures. This lovely old town on the French Riviera is no exception. I know of no other artist who works in watercolors who can capture the details that William Nelson does. We purchased this 1986 from Jean-Paul Loup, who was his exclusive agent at the time. Since then, I have seen his work in galleries, and of course, in lithographs. But I have only originals. This is exquisitely triple matted and framed, museum quality. It measures 19 and 1/2 inches by 13 and 1/2 inches. Framed 26 inches by 21 inches. Signed Lower Left.

About the artist: In 1976, Nelson was commissioned as the official exclusive artist for the Olympiad by the United States Olympic Comittee and his work was part of the Atlanta Olympiad in 1996. He was also commissioned by the U.S. Congress to paint "A Bicentennial History of the United States" which was unveiled before leaders of the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration in Washington D.C. and was later put on display at the Smithsonian Institute. Nelson has works that are displayed in the White House, The National Museum of Art, and numerous private collections.
