Roberto Ortuno Pasqual (Spanish, b. 1953) paints with a feel for nostalgia; a simpler aesthetic. He captures romance from a moment of simplicity. His use of colors fascinates me. There is a feeling that I usually only get with pastels and watercolors that his paintings evoke. His impressionistic style is quite different from other artists. Mr. Ortuno is in Spain, and his work has been sold primarily there. Auction results are spotty, although his high public sales price realized is over $2500.00. I suspect that he has sold works at much higher amounts in Spain. A few pieces have found their way to the prestigious Clars Gallery and Heritage, and the Mainichi, the Mallett in Japan. One sale at Clars was over $1100.00. His work has begun to be purchased at much higher prices now that the economy seems to be improving. However, the reason to buy any art is because you get enjoyment from it. This is one of a number of outstanding Ortuno works that I am now listing. This is larger than most. A very imposing painting with the beautiful impressionist style of Mr. Ortuno.
