Charles R. Jacobson was born in Chicago where he also received his arts education. In 1944 he moved to Miami, FL, where he spent most of the rest of his life. He also worked in the Caribbean and Mexico, from where he brought thousands of studies that were later adapted for his work throughout the United States. Probably his most famous work, outside of his paintings, are the copper column panels for the luxurious Sheraton Bal Harbour (originally The Americana) Hotel in Bal Harbor, FL. His paintings are in a number of galleries, museums, and private collections. His paintings are not seen frequently on the secondary market, since many consider his current prices to be well under his worth.
This is on consignment from a collector who is motivated to sell. I have talked him into allowing me to list it and put it in the Red Tag Sale. This is difficult for him, since he paid significantly more than we have listed it for.
