Jose Vento Ruiz (Spanish, 1925-2005) studied at the School of Fine Arts in San Carlos , Valencia, and later, thanks to a grant from the Diputación de Valencia, he expanded them in Madrid. He was cofounder of the group Hondo together with Juan Genovés , and impeller of the New Figuration during the decade of 1950 . He was also the founder of the Z Artistic Group . From 1954 to 1960 he lived in Madrid , where he worked on various mural paintings. His works can be seen in the Museums of Contemporary Art of Madrid and Seville , in the Modern Art of Alexandria , the Abstract Art of Cuenca and the Fine Arts of Valencia . The following was a tribute to this fine artist on his death: "Does the light on the amalgam of pigment, its intensity walks the course plotted by the brush And it goes through the network of arteries of color willing on a piece of rough and whitish that burns in all directions which has set its own modulation, conjured patiently by your eyes, eager and curious. So show me your work, so can I have the anatomy of your creations in the manner in which the light makes the color the fabric that builds our world. There are legacies that populate smiles your absence by just looking at it, as on this occasion, your paintings."
His work has been gaining more and more notice. This particular artwork was sold at the Mainichi Art Gallery House for approximately $700.00. in 2013. His high reported price is over $9,600.00.
