An American Gold and Diamond Snake Motif Match Safe, circa 1900. Unusual, attention-getting. The serpent is holding a bezel set diamond in its mouth.

Size: 2 3/8 inches high (6.0 cm)

Weight: 0.72 troy ounce.

Medium: Tested as 10K gold.

Marks and Subject: The safe with emerging serpent to the front, holding a bezel set diamond in its mouth, monogrammed to reverse CJC

Condition: Pin dents to the edges of the case, solder repair below the hinge, wear to the match strike, dent to the lid verso and scuffing to the corners. Tested as 10K gold.otherwise with surface scratches indicative of age and use.
