Pere Arribas (Spanish, 1924-1996). What a shame that it is not until after this fine artist died that his work began to attract interest and a following. Arribas had already gained appreciation in Spain, but only recently did his work attract those of us in the U. S. A. This particular painting seems to me to be what he was trying to depict in some of hispast paintings. While always an artist who used bright colors, this painting has depth of meaning to me. Autumn is my season. Love the colors, love the temperature, love the sweet sentiment of a year almost over, but with still some beautiful time to come. Bittersweet.
