This lovely pair of antique Chinese silk embroidered lotus slippers are of cone shape resembling a lotus bud. The lilac satin panels have charming butterfly embroidery. They were for bound feet, as the ancient Chinese performed to try to have the narrowest feet possible. It actually was harmful to the little girls, and many of them would up with affected gaits.
Country of Origin: China.
Size: 8" long, largest width at heel 2 3/4".
Condition: These appear to have had use. Considering their age or approximately 130 years old, they must have been loved, and then treasured. Good Antique Condition.
