Alois Binder, German (1857-1933) - has had paintings sell for over $8000.00. He is well-listed, and well-loved. He is known for his portraits. This is an excellent example. It is one of two that I am listing. These two, to me, would be quite nice kept together. They are both of friars. Not sure of why the previous owner framed them differently.

Country of Origin: Germany.

Title: "A Sip."

Size: 7" by 5 1/2"; framed measures 15 1/4" by 13 3/4".

Signed: lower right.

Condition: Light wood grain crazing.
