Jean Keime (French, b. 1932) Many artists lack auction records because their works are most often sold privately or in galleries. This is especially true with artists from the mid- to late 20th Century, considered "contemporary." This artist has popularity in France, but little exposure elsewhere. As always, I encourage buyers to buy what appeals to them; what will give them pleasure. Certainly some Francophiles may enjoy looking back to Paris past visits. I personally am glad to see this artist allow a more impressionist feeling in his paintings. This is a painting with more feeling and happiness. It has almost a pastel or watercolor influence. It attracted me.
