This design is mesmerizing! It has many fleur-di-lis, pineapples, what looks to me like a Halloween pumpkin, vines, branches and....you will have to look for yourself. Staffordshire Enamels, England, produced this in The William Morris Collection. It is number 73 of an edition of 1000. The workmanship is flawless. The description of William Morris in the inside lid 'explains' this marvelous pattern. "William Morris 1834 -1896 - Poet, painter, architect, designer, decorator, typographer - a genius across the whole field of Art; a strong believer in the revival of Gothic and Medieval Art; an absolute master of pattern and cavalier use of bright colours."
