Harold Phenix (American, 1928-2009) has created works that are treasured in many important collections around the world. It is interesting that, in spite of his popularity, or perhaps because of it, his works almost never appear on the secondary market. One might infer that those collectors having his artwork may feel that it should be passed down to future generations instead of being sold. It is speculation, but may be quite apt. He is well-known in Texas, and to many sophisticated collectors around the world. This has been the property of a distinguished Houston collector.
