Laszlo Ispanky considers himself a truth seeker. He said in an interview "We spend so short a time on this earth, it must not end, there must be something. I'm always sculpting. Drawing or sculpting, it's a part of your life. It's inside of your soul. Sometimes I think it must be a gift. You come to this earth and have some purpose to your existence."
"Some people ask me, Which piece do you like the most?" he replied by saying, "the next one. The dream is always going forward and doing new things. Some artists reach a point and successfully do a style, and they do it through a lifetime. I always try to change and do it in a different way."
Laszlo Ispanky began his American career as a designer for Cybis Porcelains, and gained a substantial reputation when he developed many of Cybis figures.
In 1966, he established his own studio in Pennington, New Jersey; since 1976, he has worked for Goebel of North America and worked in stone, wood, or metal, as well as porcelain.
