It is getting harder to find wonderful Japanese antique pieces that still present very well, showing some expected wear but without breaks or restoration. This antique censer is a piece to display with pride. The foo dog finial to the lid; the foo dog handles; and the two reclining males depicted on obverse, as well as the lovely floral arrangement on reverse, all on four scrolled feet, combine to make this a very precious creation.
